In order to involve 1st year students in scientific, social and sports life as widely as possible, as well as to maximize the identification of their skills and abilities, the university held an exciting event - the decade of first-year students "Energo Talents". This initiative became a guiding star for new students and gave them a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the rich history and nature of the Almaty region.
As part of the event, on October 8, the students were divided into several directions and 300 people went on an exciting geographical tour, which included the following points:
Issyk Lake and Saka barrows: In this part of the tour, students were able to enjoy the beauty of Issyk Lake and explore the Saka barrows, which are evidence of the ancient history of the region.
Charyn canyon and Valley of castles: In Charyn canyon, students encountered stunning natural beauty and learned about its historical significance. The Valley of castles, which is also located in this region, is a gorge with interesting traces of researchers and scientists such as N.Severtsova, A.N.Krasnova and Chokan Valikhanov.
Tamgaly-Tas - City of nomads: In the Tamgaly-Tas tract, located on the Ili river, students discovered many petroglyphs and images of mysterious deities, including images of Buddha and ancient Turkic runic writings. This place is also an open-air Buddhist temple and is under the protection of the Government of Kazakhstan.
Each of these places provided students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the history, culture and nature of the Almaty region. Charyn canyon, with its steep mountains, which are about 12 million years old, is a natural monument that left an indelible impression on the participants of the tour. Tamgaly-Tas, with its ancient petroglyphs and runic inscriptions, has become a unique guide for students to the past of this amazing region.
This decade of the first year of "Energo Talents" not only enriched the knowledge of students, but also strengthened their connection with the history and culture of Kazakhstan, giving them experiences and adventures that they will remember throughout their studies and life.
