Goals

The professional Master's program in "Electrical Power Engineering" is designed to train specialists in the design, operation, and modernization of energy systems. The program covers smart grids, digital control systems, alternative energy sources, and energy efficiency improvement. Graduates acquire practical skills for careers in industrial enterprises, energy companies, design firms, and government agencies specializing in power engineering.

LO1. Demonstrate knowledge on the mechanical characteristics and calculation of parameters of power transmission line elements, calculation of operating modes of electric networks and methods and means of reducing losses in electric power systems. Have an understanding of the effects of wave processes and overvoltage on high and ultra-high voltage electrical equipment. 

LO2. Possess the information basics of dispatching and technological management, knowledge of operating modes and operating features of electrical equipment for power generation, distribution and consumption systems, as well as the ability to identify and prevent emergencies in electric power systems. 

LO3. To develop measures for energy and resource conservation and the introduction of renewable sources of electricity in autonomous and system modes. To adapt new energy-saving technologies to existing energy facilities and enterprises in various sectors of the economy. 

LO4. Possess knowledge of energy enterprise management, the ability to conduct technical and economic analysis of the effectiveness of design solutions, skills in working with an automatic design system and using application programs in engineering and technical design calculations

LO5. Possess knowledge of joint digital automatic control systems in electric power systems and electric drives, programming skills, diagnostics and adjustment of a frequency-controlled electric drive, the ability to justify and implement energy-saving tools and methods in electric drives of various sectors of the economy. 

LO6. He will be able to independently analyze current problems in the generation, distribution and consumption of electric energy. Demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of modern diagnostics and testing of power equipment, improving the reliability and quality of electricity, as well as electromagnetic compatibility in the electric power industry. 

LO7. Demonstrate the ability to improve and develop their intellectual level based on knowledge of foreign languages and management psychology. He is able to independently acquire and implement new knowledge and skills in the management of firms and companies in the electric power industry.

LO8. Demonstrate the ability to effectively use modern computer and information technologies, digital technology and software in solving scientific and technical problems of the electric power industry. Master the skills of modeling elements of electric power systems and complexes and working with computer programs Rastr Win, PS CAD and MatLab.
