On June 7, the anniversary meeting of graduates of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering, who left the university 40 years ago, took place at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev (Energo University).
The meeting of graduates of the ESS-79-1,2,3,4, EPP-79-1,2,3,4 and RET-79-1,2,3 groups took place as part of the development of the Alumni club movement with the support of the Office for work with graduates and the Institute of Energy and Green Technologies.
More than 20 people who graduated in 1984 from the walls of the then Almaty Institute of Power Engineering and Telecommunications plunged into their student memories for a few hours and were able to feel like carefree students again. A tour of the university was organized for them, in which the graduates visited the laboratory classrooms and remembered where they once took their first steps in science. Just like in the good old days, they sat down at desks in lecture halls again. But most importantly, they were able to see each other, remember their student youth, difficult but exciting moments of study, communication with teachers and an interesting life in the hostel.
The head of the AUPET Office for work with graduates, Zarema Abdullina, presented a presentation on the activities of the Alumni Association to the guests. She spoke about the concept of the Association, stressing that the university is always ready to help its graduates and is happy to accept any support from them.
It is noteworthy that among those present at the alumni meeting were current employees of our university - Director of the AUPET College Malikzhan Mamezhanovich Arshidinov, lecturer of the Department of Electric Power Engineering Mikhail Vladimirovich Bashkirov and lecturer of the Department of Ecology and Management in Engineering Toty Sabirovna Sanatova.
At the end of the meeting, all graduates received gifts from the university in recognition and respect for their contribution to the development of our Alma Mater.
— This meeting was another proof that university years are not only a time of study, but also a time when strong and long—term relationships are established that last throughout life, - said Zarema Abdullina. - Thank you all for your participation and look forward to new meetings! The strength of the university lies in its graduates!
