The new KUKA training laboratory opened at Energo University

At the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after G. Daukeyev (Energo University), a training laboratory of the world-renowned industrial robot manufacturer KUKA was opened on the basis of the Institute of Communication and Space Engineering. This laboratory is intended for the training of students in the educational program "Robotics and Mechatronics."

KUKA is a German company and one of the largest manufacturers of industrial robots. Today, its robotic systems are integrated into many industries, including in Kazakhstan.

Currently, due to the active introduction of robots into work processes, there is an acute shortage of specialists who can program and maintain them. The AUPET KUKA laboratory is equipped with a training cell based on the KUKA KR4 R600 manipulator robot. The control of the robot in this cell is identical to the control of KUKA industrial robots.

As noted by the rector of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, Gani Nygymetov, the new laboratory opens wide opportunities for students, allowing them to master modern technologies and immediately after graduation start working with complex but familiar equipment.

It is noteworthy that it will be possible to master a sought-after profession within the framework of the educational program "Robotics and Mechatronics" in just three years.
