Staff from Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev) together with their partners from Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) visited the "Energy of Semirechye" LLP wind power plant in the Shelek corridor of the Almaty region.
The delegation included faculty members, German industrialists, heads of electrical engineering projects, and graduate students.
"Energy of Semirechye" LLP is a joint Kazakh-Chinese venture, with shareholders including the Chinese state corporation Power China and the Kazakh state energy holding company Samruk-Energo JSC. The company is engaged in the construction and operation of wind power plants (WPP).
The managing director of "Energy of Semirechye," Alexey Kozlov, introduced the guests to the experience of implementing the project in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), discussed the features of installing and operating a 60 MW wind power plant, and outlined the main stages of its operation: from the production of wind turbine components to the operation of wind farms and the monitoring of daily electricity production.
WPP staff demonstrated the software that allows real-time data collection for analyzing the wind farm's performance and enabling quick response from the personnel.
"Such excursions, including visits to RES facilities and personal interactions with energy professionals, provide opportunities for faculty and students to gain more up-to-date information and expand their knowledge of 'green' technologies," noted Ainur Begimbetova, Director of the Institute of Energy and Green Technologies at Energo University.
Background:
Energo University has been successfully cooperating with Anhalt University since 2018, implementing several joint educational programs in the fields of energy, radio engineering, and automation.
