As part of the collaboration between the Department of Thermal Power Engineering at the Institute of Energy and Green Technologies of Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev) and the Kazakhstan engineering company Supros in the field of industrial insulation (Atyrau), an award ceremony was held for the winners and participants of the best scientific paper competition among graduate students.
Several months ago, Supros offered graduate students at Energo University specializing in "Thermal Power Engineering" to conduct scientific research on one of the following topics:
The positive impact of insulation on decarbonization - energy efficiency and emission reduction;
- Effective insulation as a key factor in reducing energy consumption and electricity costs;
- Return on investment in insulation: analysis of economic benefits and payback periods;
- Control of condensation and corrosion under insulation: current methods and technologies;
- The role of insulation in reducing emissions and protecting the environment: innovative approaches and practical solutions.
Ten first-year graduate students participated in the competition. The award ceremony for the winners and participants was timed to coincide with Alumni Day. Supros' Director of Strategic Business Development, an alumnus of our university, Sanat Aktananov, presented commemorative gifts to all participants of the competition. The two winners, Gauhar Temirova and Ali Kaliev, received special branded gifts and an official review of their work from Supros, enabling them to publish it in scientific and professional journals. Additionally, the graduate students will have the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Isotec plant in Chelyabinsk, Russia, in August this year.
After the award ceremony, Supros representatives discussed further plans for developing cooperation with the leadership of the Department of Thermal Power Engineering.
