Graduate Students of KarTU Completed an Internship at the Department of \"Automation and Control\" at Energo University

15 graduate students from Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov (KarTU) completed a scientific internship at Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev).

The internship was organized at the initiative of KarTU at the Department of "Automation and Control" of the Institute of Automation and Information Technologies at Energo University. Over the course of two weeks, 15 graduate students had the opportunity to gain skills in working with equipment that is not available at their university.

"The arrival of the graduate students for the internship is an exchange of experience for us as well, as such interaction provides an understanding of what our colleagues focus on in organizing the educational process and what material and technical base they have," noted Laulasyn Abzhanova, head of the Department of "Automation and Control" at Energo University.

The greatest interest among the graduate students of Karaganda Technical University was sparked by the Schneider Electric Center for Industrial Automation and the Siemens Training Center for Relay Protection and Automation in Power Engineering.

Classes at the laboratory stands equipped with Schneider Electric equipment (one of the world leaders in automation and control) were dedicated not only to acquiring theoretical knowledge but also to practical skills in working with industrial PLCs - programmable logic controllers, frequency converters, and modern software.

During the internship, the KarTU graduate students chose a topic of interest and prepared a report on it. For example, Karina Beisova was interested in the development of intelligent systems and the possibilities of the specialized programming language R for statistical processing and data analysis, machine learning, and graphical visualization.

After completing the training, each graduate student received a certificate of internship at Energo University.

"We have always supported and will continue to support interaction with Kazakhstan universities that, like us, train students and graduate students in the fields of automation, control, and information technologies. Another important aspect is that a large number of students and graduate students from various regions of Kazakhstan study in these specialties at our university,"- noted Igor Fedorenko, director of the Institute of Automation and Information Technologies. "They may also be interested in spending a semester at one of the universities in their hometown through the academic mobility program."
