Almaty, March 28 — The site of the future campus of Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev) in Kaskelen was visited by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek on a working visit. The main topics of the meeting were the development of the Creative Industries Park and the launch of the first branch of the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Kazakhstan.
Gani Nygymetov, Rector of Energo University, demonstrated to the minister the possibilities of the new territory, where it is planned to build a campus designed for 10,000 students. The Rector stressed that the Creative Industries Park created here should become an innovative hub for startups, IT developments and digital art, in accordance with the new development concept of Energo University, which aims to become a techno-creative educational hub in Central Asia.
"It is symbolic that NYFA became the first resident of the Park. This is a landmark event for the creative economy of Kazakhstan. Students will be able to study with world experts in the field of cinema, animation and media," said Gani Nygymetov.
It is also planned to create a Technopark on the territory of the future campus. Here, students, scientists and industry representatives will be able to work together on projects that stimulate the development of various areas of domestic energy.
