On April 18, a unique training laboratory of the Chinese corporation Dahua Technology — one of the global leaders in video surveillance, security systems, and intelligent solutions for cities and businesses — began operating at Energo University. This opening is a logical continuation of the cooperation agreement signed in 2023 between the university and the corporation.
The launch ceremony was attended by the university’s rector Gani Nygymentov and official representatives of Dahua in Kazakhstan, led by Director Zhen Guanghao.
Energo University has become the first and, so far, the only university in Kazakhstan to host such a laboratory. This collaboration opens up unique opportunities for students majoring in “Information Security Systems”:
- hands-on training using advanced Dahua equipment,
- studying video surveillance, access control, fire and gas safety systems,
- obtaining international certificates issued by the company,
- opportunities for internships and future employment at Dahua and its partner organizations.
The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art devices including video intercom systems, thermal cameras, AI-powered smart surveillance systems, and smoke and gas detectors.
Before the project launch, university staff and faculty members — Tatyana Golubeva, Viktor Tailakov and Azamat Kalpebayev — completed professional training and were certified as Dahua trainer-instructors. This enables them to teach students in accordance with the corporation’s standards.
As emphasized by Zhen Guanghao, Director of Dahua’s Kazakhstan branch, the company considers Energo University a research partner and a source of highly qualified specialists. In turn the university’s rector Gani Nygymentov noted that the opening of such a laboratory highlights the importance of developing the information security industry in Kazakhstan.
