On April 21, a large-scale networking event Creativity Day was held in Kaskelen on the territory of the Energo University Creative Industries Park with the participation of the New York Film Academy Kazakhstan on the occasion of the World Creativity and Innovation Day. It brought together leaders of the creative industry, representatives of media, art and education. The guests of honor were representatives of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty - Zhang Fei, Consul for Science and Technology, and Huang Xiaoming, Consul for Education.
Welcoming the participants, Gani Nygymetov, Rector of Energo University, presented a new concept for the university's development until 2030, according to which the university should become the first techno-creative educational hub in Central Asia.
"We will continue to focus on high-quality engineering education in the fields of energy, telecommunications and IT," said Gani Nygymetov. - At the same time, we will actively develop the creative cluster, attracting the world's leading and Kazakhstani companies operating in this sector to cooperation.
The first successful example of such a partnership can be considered the work with the world-famous New York Film Academy, whose branch was opened at the site of the Park of Creative Industries in Kaskelen in March this year. According to Munira Derbisali, the official representative of the New York Film Academy Kazakhstan, an active recruitment process is underway for the only NYFA branch in Asia. The training starts in September. The branch will be taught exclusively by representatives of the Academy from the USA.
As part of Creativity Day, independent Director Danat Zhumin presented the great opportunities of the Creative Industries Park itself, which was opened in Kaskelen on the territory of the future Energo University campus in August 2024 and has already become the core of a new emerging techno-creative hub. The guests were shown 70,000 square meters of territory with a unique landscape in the foothills, noting the extensive infrastructural capabilities of the Park and outlining the immediate strategic plans for the construction of a new next-gen university here - a place where science, technology and art combine into a single educational ecosystem.
