On June 25, 2025, a meeting of the Industrial Council on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev.
One of the issues on the agenda was the consideration of applications for grants from the Industrial Council.
On the recommendation of the institutes, candidates for students who excelled in their studies, as well as those who were active in scientific and technical activities, including participation in Olympiads, competitions and specialized projects, were considered.
Grants for additional scholarships were provided by companies and members of the Industrial Council:
– Documentolog LLP;
– JSC "Banking Service Bureau of the National Bank of Kazakhstan";
– JSC "Jusan Mobile";
– Public Association "Community of Kazakhstani IT managers".
Applicants were selected according to internal regulations based on a set of criteria, including academic performance, scientific and research achievements, motivation and professional goals, as well as participation in public and volunteer activities.
As part of the meeting, the prospects for establishing joint educational and research laboratories were also discussed.
Representatives of the Council expressed their willingness to cooperate with the University in the development and implementation of joint projects, the opening of joint laboratories, participation in applied research and the involvement of industry experts in the educational process.
The Council members will also assist in updating educational programs.
It is planned to review the content of training courses, considering the current industry requirements and current trends in the field of ICT, which will strengthen the practice-oriented component of education and ensure that graduate training meets industry requirements.
The meeting was held in a constructive and productive atmosphere, confirming the high interest of business in the development of human resources and the formation of a sustainable technological ecosystem in Kazakhstan.
