July 6, 2025 — Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev (Energo University) received an official visit from a delegation of the North China Electric Power University (NCEPU).
The delegation was headed by the Rector (President) of NCEPU Bi Tianshu.
The purpose of the visit is to sign an agreement on launching a 2+2 double degree program for undergraduate students, as well as conducting joint scientific research. As part of the 2+2 program, our students will spend two years at AUPET and two years in Beijing, upon graduation they will receive diplomas from both universities. This creates unique opportunities for students' academic and professional growth, as well as their integration into the global community of energy professionals.
North China Electric Power University is a leading state—owned industrial university in P.R. China specializing in energy, sustainable development and engineering.
The visit of the NCEPU delegation and the implementation of the double degree agreement are becoming an important milestone on the path of international integration of AUPET, providing students and teachers with new horizons for scientific cooperation, training and career growth in the international arena.
