Rector
1975 - 1985
The first rector of the Almaty Power Engineering Institute from 1975 to 1985. An academician of the National Engineering Academy of Kazakhstan (NEA RK), a member of the High Council under the Presidium of NEA RK, a Candidate of Engineering Sciences, a professor. A leading energy scientist with worldwide recognition, inventor and author of the Bolotov wind rotor turbine (BTRW), the first creator of wind energy sources in Kazakhstan. He authored over 300 scientific publications and held 106 patents for inventions. In the final years of his career, he headed the Alternative Energy Laboratory at the Institute of High Technologies of JSC “Kazatomprom.” During his tenure as the rector of APEI, new academic departments, laboratories, faculties, and specialties were established. Under his leadership, the institute became one of the leading universities in the Republic and the third major energy university in the USSR.
